FAQ

Q: Why should I board my dog with you?
A: I provide a safe, clean and loving environment for each dog. Each dog receives personal care and attention to their specific needs, including their diet. While staying in my home the dogs avoid the stress of a kennel and the owners can return to a happy, well-loved dog. You and your dog should be happy with the boarding environment. Your are encouraged to schedule a time to come and visit us to see if this type of boarding will work for you and your dog. "The Inn" is approximately 6 miles north of Brookings, Oregon. I have references from doggie guests and their parents, available on request or you can read a few on the "PRAISE" page of the website. I am very happy to say that all the returning doggie guests are excited
when they arrive running right to the front door!! They know where they are going on the way up the hill!!
Q: What vaccinations or other requirements are there for Boarding or Doggie Day Care?
A: All dogs that are here for Doggie Day Care, Boarding or Doggie Spaw Grooming must:
Be current on Rabies and DHLPP; Bordetella is strongly advised; Written proof from your Veterinarian is required before dogs can stay at The Inn Dog House.
Be spayed or neutered if they are 6 months old or older. Be free from communicable disease/illness, free of parasites (fleas, ticks, etc.) and be current on flea and Heartworm preventatives.
Being house-broken is a plus...although, this can be worked on while here.
Arrive with tags (ie.: license, rabies, contact information) on their collar
Have a current approved application on file with emergency contact information.
Q: How many dogs do you board at time?
A: It will depend on the behavior traits of each dog. I am careful to make sure that the dogs I will be watching together get along with each other. Some need a more quiet environment and are able to be away from the other more active dogs when they wish. I do not board aggressive dogs. Generally, I board from 1 to 4 dogs at a time. If your dog has special needs (or requires respite care or is a senior) please do not hesitate to discuss these with me.
Q: Will my dog ever be left alone?
A: There may be short periods of time (for an appointment or short errand) when I may need to be away from home without your dog. Your dog will be safe and comfortable in my home. The dogs, generally, just sleep during these times and listen to soft doggie music cd's. Geriatric dogs and special-needs dogs are not left alone. At times your dog might accompany me with your permission.
Q: Where will my dog sleep?
A: All dogs sleep in the house with me. They may be sleeping in their own beds from home or one of our soft, comfy beds that we have here. If your dog is used to sleeping in a crate, you would need to bring your dog's crate from home.
Q: What is the quickest way to contact you?
